Automotive tier 2 zinc die-casting manufacturer adopts cloud-based MES, QMS, EDI and analytics to provide real-time visibility, traceability and quality across a new greenfield facility

STOCKHOLM, June 11, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Rockwell Automation, the world's largest company dedicated to industrial automation and digital transformation, today announced that Zinkteknik, a global automotive tier 2 zinc die-casting manufacturer based in Sweden, has selected the Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform to support a new greenfield manufacturing operation and establish a scalable digital foundation for future expansion.

Zinkteknik will initially deploy Plex manufacturing execution system (MES), quality management system (QMS), electronic data interchange (EDI) and analytics and operations (A&O) at its new Monterrey, Mexico, site. The implementation will be delivered in collaboration with Cumulus, a gold-level system integrator in Rockwell's PartnerNetwork™ ecosystem.

Wenige Stunden vor dem offiziellen Start der Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft 2026 geraten die Vereinigten Staaten als Gastgeberland wegen ihrer Migrations- und Einreisepolitik unter wachsenden internationalen Druck. Der UN-Hochkommissar für Menschenrechte, Volker Türk, rief Washington dazu auf, die Umsetzung seiner migrationspolitischen Vorgaben „in der Tiefe“ zu überprüfen. Anlass sind eine Reihe von Zwischenfällen rund um die Anreise von Spielern und Delegationen, die die Debatte über die Vereinbarkeit der US-Praxis mit internationalen Menschenrechtsstandards neu entfacht haben.

Besonders kritisiert werden administrative Hürden und Pannen bei der Einreise, von denen laut Türk auch offizielle Delegationen betroffen waren. In diesem Zusammenhang werden unter anderem Probleme beim Zugang zu Visa und Kontrollen bei der Ankunft genannt; ein Fokus liegt auf den Schwierigkeiten, mit denen Vertreter des Iran konfrontiert gewesen sein sollen. Für den Menschenrechtschef der Vereinten Nationen steht dabei weniger die grundsätzliche Souveränität der USA in Migrationsfragen im Zentrum, als vielmehr die Art und Weise, wie diese Politik angewendet wird und welche Folgen sie für die „Menschenrechte und die menschliche Würde“ hat.

Türk appellierte in einer Pressekonferenz in Genf an die US-Regierung, gerade mit Blick auf die Weltmeisterschaft die bestehenden Verfahren zu überdenken. Die aktuell vorherrschenden Politiken müssten so angepasst werden, dass sie den Anforderungen eines globalen Sportereignisses besser gerecht werden, sagte er sinngemäß. Die Erwartung der UN-Seite: Ein Regime, das einerseits die Sicherheitsinteressen des Gastgeberlandes wahrt, andererseits aber die Bewegungsfreiheit von Spielern, Funktionären und Fans nicht unnötig einschränkt oder zu demütigenden Situationen führt.

Der Weltverband FIFA versucht derweil, Distanz zur Auseinandersetzung zu halten und verweist auf die Zuständigkeit des Gastgeberstaates. Man greife nicht in Einwanderungsverfahren oder Visa-Entscheidungen des Austragungslandes ein, betont die Organisation. Dennoch wächst die Sorge, dass ungeklärte Fragen im Grenz- und Visaregime weitere Reibungsverluste produzieren und damit den Ablauf des Turniers stören könnten. Sollten die kritisierten Punkte nicht rasch adressiert werden, drohen die organisatorischen Probleme, die Erzählung der WM schon vor dem ersten Anpfiff zu überlagern.
